I saw the above post on Instagram today and it made me think about how much I've recently enjoyed roaming the halls at my place of employment. Let me tell you why...

I'm on a mission to promote my audiobooks and my coworkers are doing me a solid. You see, I've spent a considerable amount of money on having my novels turned into audiobooks. I'm working with some absolutely phenomenal narrators who have brought my work to life in ways I never imagined.

The reason I explored the audiobook world is because so many people in my life used to say to me, "If you had audiobooks, I'd listen." What I've since found out is that every single one of those people lied. They just wanted an excuse to not read my books. Totally rude. Totally lame.

My coworkers are neither rude nor lame. I approached them about listening for free (I have codes to give away!) because I'm going to have three more audiobooks coming out in the very near future (stay tuned!) and I just want Audible users to be more inclined to give a Hannah Rae novel a chance. The odds of this happening increase exponentially when potential readers see that other readers have left reviews. And so... Operation: Listen Up was born!

(For the record, I literally just came up with that operation title a second ago.)

These are some of the wonderful reactions I've had from my coworkers just over the course of the past couple days:

Shawn - "Twins' tattoos made a connection and they're late for their birthday dinner. I'm all in!"

Brad - "I listened to some more last night. You used the word 'cognac.' I thought, 'She did it. She used the word cognac. Who does that?"

Dawn - "I love the short chapters! I listen to a chapter, I get my kids ready for school, I listen to another chapter -- it's great!"

Tracy - "I listened to the first chapter this morning!"

Dee - (even though she already read The Way Back) "I want the one read by the band guy who went home with you. I want the one with the music!"

Heather - "Give me the long book. I love a good, long book. And if you ever need me to read one, I think I have a good voice for narration."

Bonnie - "I listen to books all the time. Hook me up."

Kelly P. - "I don't typically listen to books, but for you I would love to!"

Kelly S. - "I downloaded it. I'm excited. I was in need of a new book."

Beth - "Please tell me Sailor is going to be fine!"

Jared - "I don't read... but I could maybe listen. That actually sounds feasible."

Niki - "I've got it downloaded and I'm ready to go! I'm excited!"

Josh - "This is now my traveling 'music.'"

Tiff - "It's downloaded. I'm ready."

Even my buddy, Buddy, has agreed to listen! She's the librarian, so this should be the logical person to listen, right? Right. Except... Buddy gets very nervous about writing reviews. I was like, "Seriously, Buddy? Just give it some stars and say it was a good book. That's all I care about. One or two sentences. There's no need to go crazy."

I know there are other coworkers who have been given codes who I haven't talked to or bumped into yet, but I am having so much fun walking through the halls and never knowing when someone might comment on one of my novels! And the fact that they're listening to so many different books makes it EXTRA fun for me!

If you are interested in listening to one of my audiobooks and writing a review upon completion, feel free to shoot me an email and let me know. You just need an Amazon account and the Audible app (which is free).
