I've never been one for data, but the 2024/2025 school year piqued my interest. My students will take their Literature Keystone Exam on Thursday (they're gonna slay; their constructed responses have been off the charts lately!) and I'm legitimately excited to see their scores.

In addition to standarized-test data, however, I've gotten really into tracking pages read on Kindle Unlimited and hours listened on Audible. As I'm obviously slow to the data game, I only just realized last week that hours could be tracked on Audible... which means I therefore have absolutely no idea whether or not the data below is good or bad for my books. I do know this, though: I will have a new book available any day now (fingers crossed for tomorrow!)--An Illusion of Control--and this one will include a brand spankin' new Flannel Lobster song that's catchy as flypaper.

So here's the plan. Are you ready?

Step One: Once An Illusion of Control is available on Audible and iTunes, I will alert the public.

Step Two: You will purchase the audiobook and give it a listen.

Step Three: You will also dance in your kitchen to the new Flannel Lobster song.

Step Four: I will monitor my daily listeners and hours listened and update readers regarding the data via this blog.

Step Five: You will write a review for Audible and I will rejoice.

Deal?

My principal Beth is gonna flip when she sees that I've written a blog about data. Do you have any idea how many years she's been working to hook me on data? Many, many years... (Maybe she will even assist with this data collection and give Time Jumps a listen!)
